The Blade-X™ Carpal Tunnel Blade has an integrated light source. After turning on, the light tool is pushed ahead gently, with the medical staff blindly directing it toward the third intermetacarpal space and keeping the blade toward the palmar surface of the hand until the tissue resistance decreased suddenly and a sharp-edged spotlight become clearly visible in the palmar region that indicates complete ligament division. A probe then is inserted into the carpal tunnel to make sure that the carpal tunnel is decompressed completely. This source the medical staff to see the location of the blade within deep tissues exactly by transillumination.
2. A Safer Technique
The Blade-X™ Carpal Tunnel Blade offers a safe process, with its blunt skids which protects the median nerve and the motor branch of the median nerve. The palmar branch of the cutaneous median nerve, luing on the radial side of the Carpal Tunnel, that is protected also.

Usually, TCL requires many attempted cuts, such as using the scissors or the endoscope, which may risk fraying remnants with the rough edge of TCL. The recuurence risk is reduced with cutting edge smoothly and without fraying remnants of TCL and both edges.
Indications
The Blade-X™ Carpal Tunnel Blade is intended for use in adults and pediatric patients diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome that is not associated with, or secondary to, any other known pathology (i.e., “idiopathic” carpal tunnel syndrome). Preoperative x-rays of the wrist, including a carpal tunnel view, are recommended to aid in the diagnosis of associated pathology. During the carpal tunnel syndrome, which is a common condition that causes pain, numbness, and tingling in the hand and arm, the condition occurs by one of the major nerves to the hand — the median nerve — being squeezed or compressed as it travels through the wrist. In most patients, carpal tunnel syndrome gets worse over time, so early diagnosis and treatment are important. Early on, symptoms can often be relieved with simple measures like wearing a wrist splint or avoiding certain activities.
If pressure on the median nerve continues, however, it can lead to nerve damage and worsening symptoms. To prevent permanent damage, surgery to take pressure off the median nerve may be recommended for some patients.
This device is indicated for releasing the transverse carpal ligament. İt is a manual surgical instrument used for the release of the carpal tunnel ligament. It features an integrated light source to illuminate the surgical site which allows for a minimally open technique with minimal disturbance of surrounding tissue.
